| Depth | The stronger the laser, the deeper the engraving. Superficial is quite discreet, standard is deep enough to stand forever, deep can go up to 1 mm depth and creates a burning effect within the engraving. |
| Free transcriptions | You can write your name in English and select a "Japanese" font, in which case we will take care of the transcription. Note that several translations exist for the same name and that we cannot accept claims. (Please use the text field to add a comment if the pronunciation is unusual. If you already have a translation, please attach a picture). We do not translate expressions or initials, only names or words. Requests for expressions translations will be ignored and refunded. Please also note that initials cannot be translated into Japanese. Consequently, they will always be engraved in English. |

Cotton Cover for Tanto

Solid cotton cover for tanto transport and protection. This model can accommodate a standard 30 cm tanto but also longer models such as the 40 cm model and the aluminum alloy model from Minosaka Iaito workshop. Synthetic leather reinforcements are fitted at the bottom of the cover. With a tie (also made from the same cotton fabric) sewn onto the upper part, the cover can easily be tied up. The metal finish of the strap give it a classy touch.

Saya: Shirasaya (wood)The "Tanto Shirasaya 6 sun" is made of aluminum alloy reinforced (not sharp). It remains dangerous because the kissaki is very pointy and the blade is solid. This is an ideal model for realistic tanto-dori training. The "Shirasaya" mounting on Shinken (real katana) is intended for the long lasting preservation of blades without tsuka, tsuba, saya or other accessories. Since wood absorbs moisture, the Shirasaya mounting allowed to protect the blade from rust. Today this mounting is used frequently for decoration. This tanto is particularly aesthetic and can also be used for practice.
The Tanto is made in Japan with Japanese materials at the "Minosaka" Iaito forge.
Note that this tanto can be engraved with the Tanto engraving module below (tsuka or saya).
Maintenance: Clean the blade with a dry cloth. Oiling the blade is not necessary thanks to the stainless aluminium alloy, but it can nourish the wood of the saya. Never use Uchiko (polishing powder), it might damage the blade.
