Available in: black, navy, tetsukon (blue/grey), purple, azuki (wine), brown, uguisu (green), white and kincha (gold)The Tsukaito, as it is braided around the handle of a Iaito, contributing to the grip, has to be rather thin and tightly woven, unlike a Sageo.
Cotton allows a better absorbtion of the sweat but silk and leather are much more durable. Silk feels a little harder and may not be recommended for beginners but should not cause any discomfort to advanced practitioners and has a significantly longer lifespan.
This Silk Tsukaito is used for Iaito or Shinken and sold per meter. The US metric conversion is information only, the length is cut using the international metric system. You will need 300 cm (3 m) for a Wakizashi Tsuka, and 400 to 500 cm (4 to 5 m) for a Iaito Tsuka.
