Higo Koshirae Minosaka Iaito (2.30 ~ 2.45 Shaku)
Made in Japan (Kyushu)
Hamon : Suguha
Habaki : Muji (gold) | Seppa : gold
Tsuba : Higo | Menuki : Kenkatabami | Fuchi/Kashira : Higo
Tsukaito & Sageo : Cotton, brown
Saya : ChaishimeThe Higo Koshirae is the most popular Iaito among Japanese Iaidoists.
For this model, we selected a Higo Tsuba, Higo style Fuchi and Kashira (rounded kashira), and a Kenkatabami (consisting in two crossing swords) style Menuki. To keep consistency in the design, we selected the brown Sageo and Tsukaito, gold plated Habaki and Seppa and Chaishime sayanuri (brown lacquer with sand effet, scratch resistant). Finally, in order to stay as sober as possible with the bright "gold/brown" fitting, we selected a very classic Suguha (straight) Hamon.
These models also feature 2 Mekugi in order to guarantee maximal security.
Blade is available in 2.30, 2.35, 2.40 and 2.45 shaku.
The blade is made of reinforced high quality zinc/aluminium bubble-free alloy (duralumin). Note: Alloy blades do not cut and cannot be sharpened.
Just like the blade, all fitting parts are handmade in Japan and result in a 100% made in Japan product.
