Sunuke
With chain
Available in 36 cm onlyWhen the Horinouchi workshop ceased operations at the end of 2019, some of their machines and remaining stock were transferred to the Aramaki workshop. However, due to the ongoing surge in demand for wooden weapons and the disruptions caused by the COVID crisis, Master Aramaki had not had the opportunity to go through everything Master Horinouchi's left behind.
We originally believed that the stock Master Horinouchi had entrusted to Aramaki’s workshop was completely depleted, especially after we could offer a small batch of these remaining products in November 2021 on our website.
However, we are more than pleased to announce that a limited number of Nunchaku have recently been rediscovered, thoroughly checked, and are now available for purchase. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.Nunchaku featuring a Hakkaku (or octagonal) shape shaft are the most common amongst Japanese Nunchaku.
Made from exclusive Sunuke, they are designed for Kata practice and will also make very nice gifts to celebrate a successful grade passage.Sunuke is a hardwood and can cause severe damage upon contact, but on the other hand, it's less resilient and breaks more easily than oak. Therefore, this exotic timber model is not recommended for contact practice. Please note that this model cannot be carved with the grip lines (Suberidome) due to the wood's high density.
- Wood species: Sunuke
