Here we are in July, and as summer sets in, the increasing heat is making it challenging to keep up with training. But we will do our best to practice to the fullest. The summer season also brings with it summer seminars, where Budo enthusiasts gather to train together and expand their skills all over the globe.

Despite the thick humidity, July is a special time in Japan when people gather to enjoy Matsuri (festivals). Hana-bi (Fireworks) will illuminate the night sky, the streets will get crowded by passersby, and children will excitedly line up to order Kakigōri (shaved ice dessert) while everyone will enjoy the warmth of summer's evening.

Speaking of Festival, one of the highlights of the month is the Tanabata festival, held on the Evening of the seventh day.
Also known as the "Star Festival" ("Hoshimatsuri"/"星祭り"), it celebrates the only day of the year when the two Deities "Orihime" and "Hikoboshi" are allowed to meet, as they are separated by the Milky Way the rest of the year. Our regular customers will have noticed that the kanji of "Star" is the one present in our name, "星道".
