Satsuma Nami Chidori - C033
This made in Japan Kojiri features plovers of the Satsuma region flying over sea waves. Chidori is seen as a symbol of perseverance as it overcomes strong winds and high waves during its migration. Chidori is a very common motif on kimono that is traditionally classed as a winter motif, but commonly featured on summer items to evoke the coolness of winter. Chidori's cry is perceived as the sound "chiyo", which can be writtern 千代 in Kanji with the meaning 'thousand generations'. Plovers are sometimes seen as symbols of long life.
This model is available in available in two different finish.
The Satsuma Nami Chidori - C033 has a matching Satsuma Nami Chidori (Tsuka fitting).
