Artist: Fuh-mi
Size : 27 cm x 24 cm (with frame: 35.4 cm x 38.4 cm x 2.6 cm).
Material: Ink on cream shikishi Tori no Koshi, made in Kyoto by Taniguchi Shōyūdō. Frame: Wood & Plastic.
Year of production: 2021A central concept in Japanese martial arts, Zanshin literally translates to "Remaining mind, or lingering mind", that is to say to remain vigilant, even after a victorious blow, because the enemy whom one believes vanquished can sometimes gather his last forces and deal a fatal blow himself.
Each calligraphy is signed by the artist's seal. The second seal represents a Tombo (蜻蛉), or dragonfly in English. Swords pieces and arrow quivers were commonly decorated with dragonflies for their symbolism: fearless, swift, and courageous. The dragonfly is also known as the "victory insect”, or Kachimushi in Japanese, because of its hunting prowess and also because its nature forbids him from retreating (moving backward).
A Shikishi is a traditional Japanese cardboard specially designed for calligraphy, poetry, or autographs. The high-quality paper is laminated to a hardboard with golden edges, giving the paper sturdy & exquisite support.
This Calligraphy can be purchased with or without frame. Framed calligraphy can just as easily be hung in a kotonoma or placed on a table or on the floor at the level of the shomen. Convenient during outdoors training for example.
Each piece is unique. Upon placing the product in your cart, the product is reserved for a short amount of time. Should you leave the website, it will be made available for other customers. We do not accept reservations: first come, first served.
