Mushin is a state of mind free of thoughts of anger, fear, or ego. It does not mean that there are no thoughts at all, but those thoughts are perfectly focused on the task at hand and free of emotions that cloud influence one's judgment.
Often experienced during hard practice / Shiai by practitioners, the final goal of any Budoka is to conserve this state of mind at all times. Each calligraphy is signed by the artist's seal.
A Shikishi is a traditional Japanese cardboard specially designed for calligraphy, poetry, or autographs. The high-quality paper is laminated to a hardboard with golden edges, giving the paper sturdy & exquisite support.
