- shu (守) means "protect", “obey”: learning the fundamentals, obeying your teacher without questioning.
- ha (破) means "detach", “digress”: detaching from the fundamentals, forging your own experience.
- ri (離) means "leave", “separate”: transcending the teaching, all moves become natural. There are no techniques or styles anymore.
Fuh-mi has studied calligraphy, poetry, and ikebana (Japanese floral art) since childhood. She is a Japanese calligrapher who mainly works in the field of contemporary art.
She claims a style freed from tradition and does not hesitate to offer extremely colorful pop works or performed vertically to obtain dripping effects close to street art.
She has agreed to return to a more classic calligraphy for this special collaboration with Seido, while retaining a certain freedom in the balance of lines and composition.

This Kakejiku is a "Maruhyoso Kakejiku": it is made of 4 sections the top section called "Ten" (Heaven in English), the bottom section called Chi (Earth in English), and the two pillars on the right and left sides supporting the Heaven. Because Kakejimu were observed from a Seiza position, providing perspective, the Heaven part is longer than the Earth part, for balance.
